Colour Trends: Hold Up! Pastels are In?

Recently, life seems to have gotten ‘real’ really quickly, and intentional choices are beginning to matter even more, following the unexpected turn that the year 2020 brought along with it.

With many of us working from home and spending longer periods of time in and around personal places of comfort, it seems that fresh bursts of interior and pressing forward with pops of colour rank highly on the design agenda!

The themes of positivity, freshness and less stress are said to be driving many of the personal choices we’re making, and when it comes to decor, design, palettes, shapes and the placement of furniture, how ‘at home’ we really feel remains our top priority.

Believe it or not, colours inform how you should start to feel and this might be largely dependent on factors such as age, gender and culture. Nonetheless, out of all the elements of design that appeal to our emotions the most, it is said that colours have the most influence, and this season, pastels are in!

Pastels work well when used collectively. You won’t go wrong adding a summer or vintage vibe into your space, and if you’re one who’s a little nervous about introducing colours then pastels are a soft and subtle way to start.

Be brave and explore; the results may be more classy than you expected. You can combine the low hues of the pastel colors with dark navy blue or contrast with copper or gold accents.
